Digital Linear CCD Arrays with USB Interface and LabVIEW Drivers: CCD Series |
|
The advanced digital linear CCD arrays (CCD line cameras) models CCD-3600-D(-UV) and CCD-2000-D(-UV) feature:
- High-Sensitivity Linear CCD Sensors with up to 3648 Pixels
- Wide Spectral Ranges: 200 nm - 1100 nm with UV option
- USB Interface for Plug&Play Computer Interfacing
- On-Board RAM for Storage of Multiple Readouts
- Options: UV (ultra-violet) and External Trigger
- NO External Power Supply Needed (USB-Powered)
- NI LabVIEW Drivers / Serial Programming from Other Programming Languages is Also Possible (by sending simple commands)
The CCD line sensors are available with 3648 pixels (CCD-3600-D and CCD-3600-D-UV) or 2048 pixels (CCD-2000-D and CCD-2000-D-UV). Both CCD sensors feature a pixel height of 200 µm in order to achieve high
sensitivity. The covered spectral ranges are from 200 nm to
1100 nm with UV-option (CCD-3600-D-UV and CCD-2000-D-UV) and from 320 nm to 1100 nm without UV-option (CCD-3600-D and CCD-2000-D).
The CCD arrays can be connected to a PC through the plug & play USB interface. The extremely compact CCD line detectors are USB powered and therefore no external power supply is needed. An external trigger option is available. The digital resoultion of the CCD detectors is 12 bits which corresponds to 4096 intensity levels per pixel.
The numerous applications of the CCD arrays include beam profile measurements and M²
measurements, single shot autocorrelators, spectroscopy, etc. The CCD line cameras represent a
cost-effective solution for light-measurement applications.
National Instruments LabVIEW drivers and measurement example VIs are included free of charge. Low-level device communication from other programming languages like C++, Delphi, Visual Basic or embedded systems programming languages is also possible, e.g. through the FTDI Virtual COM Port driver. The modern LabVIEW project style plug&play drivers are very easy to use and automatically recognize the connected CCD device and use the correct device properties during operation. The drivers have been developed according to the National Instruments driver templates and use NI VISA technology. Please see at the bottom of this page for some driver screenshots.

- LabVIEW Project Style Plug&Play Drivers Included (the default supported LabVIEW version is 8.6, but drivers for other LabVIEW versions are also available
on request)
- LabVIEW Examples Included with Drivers
- USB Interface for Easy Plug & Play Computer Control
- Easy Device Communication through Serial over USB
- Virtual
COM Port Driver allows low-level communication through most programming languages (e.g. C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, etc.)
- USB interface uses industry standard FTDI hardware & drivers (see www.ftdichip.com)
- FTDI
Drivers Support Most Industry Standard 32 bit and 64 bit Operating Systems (Windows
XP/Vista/7, Linux, Mac OS, Windows CE, and many more - please refer to
www.ftdichip.com for a complete list of operating systems)
- Future operating systems will be added. As soon as FTDI releases new drivers they can be immediately downloaded from FTDI free of charge and can be used for the device. Unlike other companies, ALPHALAS does not customize FTDI's VID and PID and therefore the device can directly use the original updated drivers as soon as they are released.
